Always report suspected gas leaks

Dave had some dramatics at home last night when they thought they could smell a faint whiff of Gas but were not sure. The next morning they were sure it was Gas!

They thought it was coming from the supply box near the front door, so phoned the number on the box. The call centre read Dave the riot act – turn off the supply, don’t touch any lights, or power,  no naked flames, etc and within the hour they had a National Grid van outside.

It was was a huge weight off their minds. The National Grid took over and found a leak at the supply box, fixed the leaking pipe and we were gas smell free again. It didn’t cost a penny because the problem was with the supply pipe. If you think you smell gas make the call as soon as you can, you can’t be too careful and it may just save someone’s life.
